Forum Rules

This document has been put in place to ensure that there are rules and regulations to be upheld on this board. If any of these rules or regulations are breached, infractions will be applied to your account.

 

Please take note of the following document terminology:

  • the Visitor - You, the visitor of HelpMyHost.com are classed as "the Visitor" from herein.
  • the Forum - This is the community attached with the Website, which the Visitor may use. It is located on only http://helpmyhost.com/
  • the Management - The Management are the team of people who run the Website. The Administrators which can be seen on the Staff Page
  • the Host - The Host of this Website (http://helpmyhost.com/) is provided by Geek Cohen - The Administrator
As the Visitor to the Website, the Management automatically assumes you have read and acknowledged this agreement. By viewing any part of the Website, you are acknowledging this agreement in full. Failure to comply with this agreement will result in revoke of access to our site, or infractions being applied to your account.

 

General notice of forum based privacy

When using this forum, it is vital that you fully understand the privacy rules that are put in place on this forum. Although the Management will do their best to prevent data loss, it cannot be guaranteed, therefore in the event of such data loss, it is not the responsibility of the Management or the Host. Our forum software has a built in system for Private based Messaging (PMs) between users, although this form of contact is not visible to general members whom are not recipients of the PM, the Management can see all PMs and have the right to act upon them as well as disclose its information, and implement an infraction based on it.

 

Information regarding the forum rules, and the infraction system

The rules, as stated in this agreement, or elsewhere on the Forum, are the rules and regulations upon which you must always operate within when using the Forum. The Management control the addition to infractions to your account, and can apply infractions for reasons other than those which are described here.
Our forum works on an infraction based system. Infractions, in percentage, are applied to your account as you break the rules specified for the Forum. Once your account reaches certain specified cumulative percentages, restrictions are placed upon your account. These restrictions could be, but are not limited to, moderation required for your future forum posts, removal of posting rights, and banning from the board all together.

 

General Forum Rules

 

ModNotice

In general, members are given written warnings before infrations are applied to their accounts. We use a "ModNotice" plugin which adds a red box to the botom of your post which mderators can enter text describing what is wrong with the post. Members receive a Private Message upon recieval of a ModNotice and should take note of it. ModNotices are the written warning described, failure to comply with the ModNotice will the result in infractions being applied from the rules below.

 

Language rules

Due to the fact that we put an amount of trust in the members of the Forum, there is no word filter put in place. However, unwanted language, IE: Cursing and Swearing, is not wanted or tolerated on the Forum. If you feel you must express yourself, please find other words to use, or go elsewhere to use foul language. Infractions will be applied by the Management if foul language is use on the Forum.

In addition to this, no slang or text talk to be used on the forum. For each posts that contains this kind of language, you will be issued an infraction.

Pornographic content

The Host and the Management will not tollerate any form of pornographic content on the Forum, regardless of it being imagery, audio or a link to a site containing it, or in any other form. This will be not tolerated under any circumstances, regardless of what the content itself includes, or whether it is relevant to the topic.

SPAM Policy

SPAMing is not allowed, nor tolerated, on the Forum. If your post is considered spam, it will be removed as well as the infraction being applied. As there are many variations of the meaning of SPAM, our description is written on this website. Repeat spamming will result in multiple infractions being applied or a possible ban. If you are considered to be SPAMing, you will have your future posts moderated before they become public viewable content.

Thread Hijacking & Thread Bumping

While posting on the forum, there is to be no thread Hijacking; which means, taking over someone else's thread. If you would like to ask a question, please create your own thread no matter what. Hijacking another thread will result in your posting be split off and you will receive an infraction.

Thread Bumping is allowed on the forum, but you can only bump your thread after 48 hours. You can only bump your thread once. If you bump before the 48 hours, you will receive a infraction. If you bump more than once, you will receive an infraction. If another member bumps a thread that isn't theirs, it will result in a Thread Bumping Infraction. If a member also posts in a thread that is more than 3 months old and the post is deemed to be poor, than a Thread Bumping Infraction will be issued.

Multiple accounts

The Forum has an effective password recovery system, and if you have got issues with your forum account, you should contact the management. If you have been banned form the forum, it is for a reason, and you should not have access again for that exact reason. It is strictly against the rules to open multiple accounts, and it will result in all of your multiple accounts being banned.

Off Topic & Poor Quality

On the Forum, we like threads to stick on topic and related to other posts. If you post completely off topic and has it not relevant to the topic in anyway, you will recieve an infranction. If your make is deemed poor by a staff member you will recieved an infraction. If a post you have made is deemed to have been made to improve your posting count, you will recieve an infraction.

Profile based rules

As a user, once you have been moved out of the "Validating" users group, you can customise your profile to make it more personal to you. However, you must keep within the rules and boundaries we set for profile customisation. You may not have pornographic content in your avatar or signature, or anywhere else on your profile. Normal pornographical content rules will apply. You may not post affiliate links on your profile, unless the normal affiliate link guidelines are met, otherwise the normal affiliate link rules will apply.

Spamming in your Profile Signature is strickly not allowed. If it is deemed to be a spam link, your signature will be modified without notice. Having Host 4 Post customise BB codes within your signature is prohibited. Having links about Host 4 Post in your signature is prohibited. This rule is excluded for staff members.

 

Support via PM

No Support is provided via PM (Private Message) to any of the Help My Host Staff. Create a thread in the appropriate forum and area and the Help My Host Staff will be more than happy to assist. If members fail to comply and PM a Staff Member for Support. A Infraction will be applied.

Infraction Consequences

  • 30% infraction = Cannot Post for 1 week
  • 40% infraction = Cannot Post for 2 weeks
  • 60% infraction = Banned for 2 weeks
  • 80% infraction = Banned for 4 weeks
  • 100% infraction = Banned for Lifetime

Any content on the Website is not the responsibility of the Host, the Website or the Management, and therefore none of which can be held liable for it.

Also, it is the discretion of the Visitor to follow or use any content posted on the Website. If you do not feel it is right, or may harm you or the system we urge you not to use it. It is also the user of any content's responsibility to perform any necessary backups or anti-fail procedures themselves.

 

Modifications to this agreement

This agreement may be modified at any time by the Management, and the Visitor does not have to be notified of this change.
